Israel-Palestine Conflict

KoreaTV.Radio Isaac Jang student report |

The Israeli-Palestinian War has been an ongoing conflict since the 1940’s.

On November 29th, 1947, the UN General Assembly passed Resolution 181, calling for a partition of the Palestinian territories into two states, one Israeli and one Arab. The Palestinian territory was under the United Kingdom’s control. The violence amongst the Arabs and Israelis intensified in these territories. I believe this conflict has affected many religious people, including myself. A lot of Palestinian and Israeli families have been affected by this as well. I stand with Israel due to my biblical influence. However I heavily condemn what Israel has done to the Palestinian people, including Al-Nakba. Verses like Genesis 12:2-3 and Romans 11:1-2 make me stand with Israel.

There are multiple reasons why I support Israel in this WAR, one obviously being my faith and also what occurred on October 7th. I believe what HAMAS is a terrorist organization that does not care about its own people. I feel sympathy for the Palestinian people and the acts of terror that the Israel Defense Force has done. I feel Israel has been attacked numerous times, with a total of nine wars since its establishment in the 1900’s.  Many consider Israel an expansionist state, but most of the times it has advanced, is when it was attacked. I believe that a two state solution would be the best outcome, however it is clear that Palestine, who wants their land back, will not accept a simple two-state solution. There has to be a certain agreement that is fair to the Palestinians and doesn’t leave the state of Israel with nowhere to go.

I believe my resolution is the most reasonable, as Israel is a huge state, and abolition will leave the citizens with nowhere to go. I also believe Israel has to appeal to Palestine to come up with a solution.

“I don’t know too much of the war, but I know that it is a very sensitive topic and, especially around social media, every comment section mentions it, and I feel if this much people are providing concern, the government shouldn’t ignore their concerns” - Yuna Shin (Yorba Linda High School, 12th grade)

“I think that this conflict is very devastating for the victims, and it’s a shame to see it progressing into 2024.” - Kaylyn Kim (Sunny Hills High School, 12th grade)
